Welcome to Nurturing Your Birth
My Loving Services
Prenatal Visits
After deciding if we are a good fit to work together, we will meet three times before your birth. During these sessions we will cover a variety of subjects. Some of which may include making a birth plan, packing a hospital bag, learning breathing techniques and other tools for managing the sensations of birth and more!
Birth support
Starting 10 days prior to your due date I will be on call, day or night, to come to your birthing space (home, birthing center or hospital) to provide support and comfort throughout your labor and birth.
Postpartum
support
A few days after you and your new addition have arrived home I will come for our first of two postpartum visits. These visits will always include a meal for the family and some other goodies. We can discuss your birthing experience, how these early days of new parenthood have been, or anything else.
Need more support postpartum? As a certifed postpartum doula I offer postpartum care packages as well. You can find more information under the “Rates & Packages” tab
about me
Hello! My name is Laura Rayford (she/her) and I am a double certified (DONA & Madriella Doula Network) birth doula and certified postpartum doula (Madriella Doula Network) serving the San Francisco Bay Area and Denver, Colorado. I am passionate about guiding birthing people with nurturing and empowering support; working together towards your ideal birthing experience. I have completed three birth doula trainings. First through Hospital Friendly Doulas (which has allowed me to work as a volunteer doula at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, CA) and then with Sierra Birth Institute (a training approved by DONA) and Madriella Doula Network. All have provided me with invaluable information and numerous tools which allow me to confidently support birthing people and their families.
Prior to working as a doula, I worked as a nanny for 15+ years. I have always been drawn to working closely with families and giving children the best possible care. For me, this naturally led me to doula work, helping new little people be brought into the world by their capable, brave and extraordinary birthing parent. My support carries over into my role as a postpartum doula as well; a role in which I suport new parents as they gain their confidence caring for their new addition.
I am excited and passionate about this work and deeply appreciate your considering inviting me into such a personal and powerful chapter of your life.
